Spring Break Fun--Without Pics

Apologize about not having pics this time, but hopefully soon. I had this little, might I add, really AWESOME, camera we purchased in Australia when we had forgotten ours, so I just leave it in my bag and occasionally remember it is there and snap away. And lately, I've been doing pretty good at it, unfortunately, now I can't find it's special adaption cord, so I can upload my pics. But long story short, the pics were basically about the incredible Spring Break Fun we had. As many of you know, we just moved to Payson.....(BTW...WE NEED FRIENDS BAD...KATHY, MONICA, BETHANY, ANDREA, HEATHER.....IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER.....I MISS YOU)....so back to my story, in Payson they grant us 2 weeks of spring break, which is a first for us, so it was pretty exciting. So Dave and I talked about it, and we decided that no matter what, we would go and do something fun each day of Spring Break so that the kids really felt like they didn't just sit and do nothing. Now, you might ask yourself....."why didn't they just leave somewhere for 2 weeks and go and have fun." My answer is this, we were scheduled to leave for Acapulco for Spring Break, but then got some unexpected family news, which required us to stay close to home......so again with the "LONG STORY SHORT STUFF".....here is the down-low of our fun times. We enjoyed hiking--fun until Kyla stepped in the water, picnics--Dave spilt his soda on the blanket, skipping rocks..which was fun until Kyla skipped a rock across Saydee's face..., finding swimming holes, pretending and playing school, reading lot's of books, painted fingernails, made cookies twice, went fishing for a bit, Phoenix Zoo--super fun, ice-cream trips--super yum, family luncheon with long lost relatives--I was called the wrong name by my uncle and then kicked by my grandma who is dieing, colored pretty pictures, Temple trip, quick trip to Safford for Baby shower, blessing, and B-I-L birthday party, visits from cousins, including bike riding, skating--bruised tailbones, elk scouting, lizard catching--broke a lot of tails off, playing barbies, and basically just 2 weeks of sheer and utter joy and happiness, with a few minor girly fights in there. All in all, it was a great Spring Break, even if it wasn't next to the ocean. Spending the time with the girls was perfect and priceless. I am glad things worked out the way they did. Hope everyone else had a rockin' spring break as well.

The Blank-Piece of Paper

I am reading this fantastic book right now called, "Integrity is Everything." Now this book is about getting real results in your life, in any area of your life. So I wanted to share something that I learned this week.

"Blank Piece of Paper Theory"
Have you ever been at that place in your life where you make a goal for yourself, and then a few days, weeks, or months down the road you realize that your not fulfilling your goal, or your starting all over. Well this is something that has come up for me, I set goals, and I go head strong for a week or two, and then the drive to fulfill it kind of washes away. However the reason, or my "WHY", on wanting to create the goal is still there and strong, however, I was falling short.
So imagine starting every morning with a blank piece of paper and you are only going to write down the items you've accomplished that day on that piece of paper. At the end of the day, you put that piece of paper aside, and then the next morning you have a new, blank piece of paper. Which you will fill out with your choices and accomplishments at the end of the day. Now they say the price to pay for success is the same price you pay for failure. Because on a daily basis your either making choices and following through with them that allow you to succeed with your goals, or to fail with your goals. Let's say my goal is to stay on top of my laundry. If every day I do a few loads, then I don't have to wait for it to bombard me all in one day. If I work out just a little bit every day, then at the end of the week or month, I will have had success. At the end of the year, I take this pile of papers and realize I have become who I strive to become, all because every day I set out to fill my life with little accomplishments, which in the end, result in amazing transformations of an individual who achieves her goals. Now just the opposite is true, if I fill that paper with things like, I slept in late...I watched TV...I ate fatty foods....I sat on the couch for a few hours.....I told my kids "in a minute" all day long. You get the idea, if your filling up your paper with accomplishments like that, you will not be happy with the end result. But if you find a way to do a ton of small and simple things throughout the day, you may not have the time to sit and watch TV, but in the end, you will not put things off "until tomorrow" and you will achieve those things you set out to achieve or become!! YOU ARE SO MUCH GREATER THAN YOUR CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES AND YOU HAVE A DIVINE DESTINY TO FULFILL

MACY KAY IS 1

Okay, this is a little late, but I have seriously been chasing my tail a bit. Macy Kay turned 1 on February 28th and it was great. Grandma Neene and Papa Max came and kicked it with us and Macy devoured her cake and all in all we had a great day. Oh, one other mess.....we went out to eat at a great little Mexican Restaurant and they brought Macy fried ice cream, which she wasn't really into, however...she wanted the "Cherry On top" and so she eats it, but chokes on the skin, and you guessed it, puke everywhere. I love these moments.......
As for Macy, she is a doll. She is walking now and really enjoys her new mobility. That's a good thing, because she was so incredibly fast as a crawler that I was running out of socks because she was wearing them out on top. She loves the outdoors and going on walks, and of course, like any child her age, animals are the greatest. She has a ton of words in her vocabulary, but one of my favorites is the song by Kate Tunstail, called "Your not the one for me." In the song, she sings...."no, no,............no, no, no, no...your not the one for me." Anyway, Macy doesn't just say no, she sings it to this song, and it's super adorable. She also says "hot" for the obvious items that are hot, and "hi" as she pretends to speak on the phone. "Up", "Down", "Go", and a few others. We feel so blessed to have her in our lives, she really just brightens everything.
