Playing in the Water

More Fun, Just playing in the Resort Snorkeling Area. They had a ton of Sea Turtles and other cool fish the girls liked watching. Macy's favorite part is the sand.

LUAU and Welcome Reception

Our Next Day we Had a great Luau with Hawaiian Dancers and an Authentic Hawaiian Band. We also had our Welcome Reception where we addressed our audience and welcomed them to Hawaii and then welcomed some new members of our Leadership Committee. The Wind was so intense that it started blowing the backdrop of the stage down and Dave and many others had to hold it back until the end of the event. It was nuts, but a great time to remember!!

Hawaii Was Amazing--2 Weeks on the Big Island

Well We spent to fabulous weeks on the Big Island of Hawaii and we had so much fun. A portion of our time there was spent at a Conference, but it just added to our enjoyment. On the first day, we went straight to the beach, where we stayed all day. It was perfect. The water was a warm 85 degrees and felt so perfect for us cold-blooded girls. Dave and the girls spent a ton of time snorkeling and I played in the sand with Macy and laid out as well.

On our Second day, we drove to the Kona Temple and spent most of our day indoors and purchased supplies for our 2 weeks. We actually got pretty burnt on our first day, even though we were all wearing 50SPF, and reapplied it once. It just wasn't a match for the Hawaiian Sun. They said that if you don't shower immediately after swimming in the ocean, the salt from the water helps intensify your burn. LESSON LEARNED! However, the Temple was beautiful, quiet, and serene. It was mid-morning on a Friday, so it was very quiet. We also had some great lunch at a local hut. I had the "mamma burger w/fries" YUMMY! There was this little fountain that sprang out of the ground in the middle of our outdoor restaurant, and Macy decided that playing in it would be ideal. So she preceded to strip, so she could enjoy the cool water. We decided, what the heck, We only live once!! Also, writing your name with white rocks on the black lava is a popular tradition on the island, so we stopped and did that too. Look how proud the girls are of their names!!

The next day, the girls explored the resort with Grandma Neene and Dave and I went on a Catamaran Tour to Captain Cook's Point which is one of the best snorkeling locations in the world. Here we hung out with a bunch of our friends and I pretended to be on Titanic!! It was perfect! We are still waiting for the film from the "underwater camera" to be developed, so I will update this when those arrive. But let me just say, swimming with Sea Turtles, ills, blowfish, and all kinds of other tropical fish was awesome.

We were staying on the Kona side of the island at the grand resort, "Hilton Waikaloa," so the next day we decided to drive over to the Hilo side and visit the Akaka Falls Park. It is a beautiful place where there is a bit of hiking, but once you arrive upon the falls, the hike becomes non-existent. We also stopped at another local burger shop and had some delicious lunch. I believe I ate the grilled cheese sandwich and the girls had chicken strips! Real Island Food!
