My Friends Kirsten and Jaden are doing "Relay for Life" which is the main volunteer-driven cancer fundraising event of the American Cancer Society. There family has been hit numerous times with Cancer and they are now fighting back and earning money to do so. Their fundraiser includes an amazing quilt made by Kirsten's mom. It is levi on one side and flannel on the other with two matching pillow cases to go with it. For every 5$ you donate, you get 6 entries in for this beautiful quilt. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...... worth it. Click *****HERE***** for donations. There are also a few other options if you'd like to help out. Then e-mail her at kitrosser@hotmail.com and let her know what you would like your donation to go towards. This is an incredible opportunity to give back and help others for such a small amount. DO IT!!

Half Full Glass or Half Empty
You know the more I think about it, (a principal I have taught for the last 5 years) that the glass really is half full.
There are two parts of the glass and basically two parts of life.
There are all the good things that happen or aren't having any problems (this is your water in the glass) and there are the crummy parts of life (the empty part of your glass) and I believe it's human nature to focus on the void of things we want or don't have and the present problems.
So if you didn't get any of that.........let me put it this way.......We are on vacation on a gorgeous little island, plenty of delicious food, warm sun, shady spots to read, lots to drink, tons of fun for the kids and we are thoroughly enjoying ourselves when a swarm of bees decides to hang out with us for the entire vacation. Human nature causes us to FOCUS on the bees and how horrible they are, instead of focusing on how amazing the rest of our vacation is. So, there it is, the glass is half full with an awesome vacation, but half empty with the presence of bees. Anyway, no matter which part you focus on, that's your natural tendency and that's who you are.
So put that in your back pocket.....so random I know.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
So I had a wonderful Mother's Day. We went to Central, where I grew up, and attended the Gila Valley Temple Open House. It is still open until the 15th of May, so if you have the chance, or even need to make a special trip, DO IT! It is really so very sweet, and emotionally moving for me to see a temple built where we grew up, and in a valley we all cherish so much as home.(no matter where we are)It was very exciting to take my daughters in and let them see how very beautiful Temples really are, and to let them know that one day they may be married to a worthy companion in a Temple just like this one. It brought tears to my eyes. We also spent lots of time with all of our family. The kids love spending time with their cousins so much, so it's always fun!
For Mother's Day, I received so many beautiful home-made gifts and cards from my girls, one card that played the "CHICKEN Dance," and they also got me an AB CIRCLE PRO, which I am very excited about. Here is a picture of it...
I found this funny description/review of it on the internet, apparently someone who is not fond of the contraption. "Essentially, you climb onto the thing, get into an all-fours position, and swing your hips from side to side against resistance to work your abs. SO...you are going to present your ass like a donkey ready to mate, and swing your hips from side to side repeatedly? Have you ever tried to stay on your hands and knees for an extended period of time? If yes, please don’t explain why..." Just totally cracked me up, because I have been wanting one of these and then to read this review about the donkey, just made me laugh. But it is true, you get on all fours, straddling the devise and move your hips from side to side. It looks pretty funny, especially if you are out of shape.
I also want to give a shout out to all the wonderful mother's I know who influence my life daily. There really are so many of you that I admire. For my own mother, simply put.....THANK YOU for being such a wonderful mom, I LOVE YOU.
Dave also bought our family a new car which we are all very excited about. It's a Lincoln SUV with a 3rd row seat and it fit's our family perfectly. We were able to take it on our trip this weekend and there was plenty of room for everyone and the ride was fantastic. Here are a few pics of our new car, outside and inside. I am full of gratitude for our good life.
